As an experienced litigator, Kassie maintains a robust litigation practice in the areas of admiralty and maritime law; construction law; commercial law; and insurance coverage.
Kassie represents vessel owners and operators and marine insurers in the defense of Jones Act and general maritime personal injury claims, as well as contractors, and other businesses in commercial matters involving contractual disputes, property damages, and insurance coverage claims. She has successfully represented clients in a wide range of cases by striving to deliver effective legal solutions tailored to the needs of each client and case.
Kassie also has extensive experience litigating an array of matters in both state and federal court. She has prosecuted and defended cases arising from construction contract claims, business and commercial contractual claims, product liability and property casualty claims, and multi-district litigation claims. Kassie prides herself on quickly getting up to speed on cases, diligently working to evaluate and minimize risks, and continually aiming to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Experience
Co-counsel for firm team that represented the leading provider of dredging services in the United States and prepared motion for summary judgment that resulted in the dismissal of plaintiff’s maritime negligence case.
Co-counsel for firm team that represented a building contractor seeking defense and indemnity against commercial general liability insurer and prepared brief successfully opposing dismissal of matter, which ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for client.
Obtained bench verdict on behalf of New Orleans condo association against member-owner in contractual dispute for unpaid dues, attorney’s fees, and costs.
